PRIVACY

Privacy Policy

Launch-ready plain-language policy. Have a Florida attorney review before relying on it as legal advice.

Effective date: September 5, 2026

College Checkmate LLC respects the privacy of students and families. This policy explains the information we may collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

We may collect contact information, student planning information, college-related goals and deadlines, documents or screenshots you choose to provide, payment-related information processed by third-party payment providers, and communications with College Checkmate.

How we use information

We use information to provide educational coaching and student-support services, maintain roadmaps and deadlines, communicate with students and parents or guardians as authorized, administer billing, improve our services, prevent misuse, and comply with legal obligations.

Student accounts and passwords

We do not ask students or families to provide passwords to college, financial-aid, school, or other personal accounts. Students should log in to their own accounts and provide information or screenshots they choose to share.

Payments

Payments may be processed by third-party providers such as Stripe. College Checkmate does not receive full payment-card numbers. Those providers handle payment information according to their own privacy and security practices.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate the business, when a student or authorized customer directs us to do so, or when required by law.

Data security and retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate for a small educational coaching business. No system can guarantee absolute security. We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for service delivery, legal, accounting, or business purposes.

Minors and family communications

College Checkmate may work with minors. A parent or guardian may be the paying customer, while the student remains the person receiving coaching. Communications and access to student information are handled according to the service agreement, applicable law, and the student's authorization where required.

Email communications

When you request a College Checkmate Board or another requested resource, we may use your email address to deliver that resource and related service messages. Marketing emails, such as College Checkmate tips, deadline reminders, and updates, are optional. Where an opt-in choice is presented, you are added to marketing communications only if you affirmatively select it. You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe option provided in those messages. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent delivery of a resource or service message you specifically request.

Your choices

You may ask to review, correct, or request deletion of certain information, subject to legal and operational retention requirements. You may also opt out of marketing email communications at any time. Contact College Checkmate through the contact information provided on this website.

Changes

We may update this policy as the business evolves. The current version will be posted on this page with its effective date.
